Daily Prompt: Treat

As one year bowed out and before the next began
I gave myself the gift of ocean waves that ran
Right up to my doorstep

Underneath the canopy of rustling trees
Assaulted by persistent bumblebees
From my feet to my heart the cool sand crept

Crickets, birds and the rustling wind, my custom ordered white noise
I wanted me some peace and quiet, solitude not loneliness my choice
Before I in the cesspool of humanity got swept

The lesson that silence teaches you
Is that you can slow your heart rate, if you breathe true
Myths to be busted – stress and fate
